Title: Visual Analytics for Exploring Manifold Embedding Ensembles

Abstract:

Discovering and understanding latent structure in high dimensional data is a common goal in genomic data analysis. We present visual analytics approaches that allow users to quickly investigate both discrete and continuous structure with an ensemble of low dimensionality embeddings. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the benefits of multiple embeddings and guide visual reasoning when using embedded spaces. These approaches are implemented in a prototype environment that facilitates user feedback studies and informs decisions about approaches to integrate in the KnowEnG platform.
